GGBS is obtained by quenching molten iron blastfurnace slag (a by-product of iron and steel making) in water or stream. It is then further ground into the desired fineness, in terms of particle size distribution required.

VCEM is produced by sourcing the high activity index raw slag from steel mills and it is then carefully ground using our state-of-the-art vertical mill. This results in a superior product in terms its consistent fineness with well-graded particle size distribution and high hydration reactivity requiring less water demand for standard consistency. In addition, the high quality raw slag supply from the steel plants ensures that VCEM has more stable chemical constituents as compared to other additives, such as fly ash and silica powder.

With VCEM comes an assurance of quality from Singapore's EnGro Corporation Limited (formerly known as SsangYong Cement (S) Limited). As a pioneer and leading manufacturer of GGBS, EnGro has over 30 years of experience in producing cement and GGBS.
